Welcome to the Local Directory
There are 4 basic ways to find what you're looking for in the Local Directory: the main menu above, the search box, by Categories, and by Tags. Each of these methods is discussed briefly below. A set of videos will soon be made available as an alternative to the written instructions below. A link to these videos will be posted here when they are available.
Main Menu
The main menu above serves as the main source of navigation on every page of this website, but it can also be very helpful in navigating the Local Directory section as well. To get started, hover your mouse over the Local Directory menu tab. You will see a drop box appear with the current categories available in the directory. Anytime you see a
next to a category, it means there is a list of sub categories that will appear when you hover your mouse over it. You can then move your mouse over to that sub category list and select one. To show a category or sub category's information, select the one you want by clicking on it.
Google Search Box
The Google search box on the right is a very good method to use if you are looking for a specific name of something. For example, if you search for 'Bonanza', you will see a list of search results for the keyword 'Bonanza'. You can then click on one of the results and view that particular item's information. The Google search does not always display the most current results because it relies upon Google re-searching the website to display new or updated information.
Categories
The Categories method of navigating the local directory is similar to the Main Menu method. The only differences being that the Categories section is located on the right side and that the category and sub category items are already displayed. Each item in the local directory is listed under a category. To use this approach, simply look through the list and choose the appropriate item.
Tags
The All Tags section to the right contains all of the tags associated with each item within the Local Directory. The size of the words are relative to how many items are listed with that particular tag. When an item is placed on this site, it is given a set of tags or keywords to help relate it to other items that are like it. You will see the tags given to an item at the bottom of that item's listing next to 'Tags:'. Clicking on a tag will then show a list of items that have been given that tag. Users of the site can add tags to particular items to help relate it with other items.
